Description:
(183) HL-392 inset lights
BYU installed 183 of our HL-392 LED inset light fixtures around the perimeter of the 380-foot-tall block letter Y that overlooks the campus. Since 1924, lighting the Y has been a Brigham Young University tradition for special occasions such as homecoming and graduation. Until recently, the Y was lit with a temporary string of lights that had to be hauled up the mountain and placed around the perimeter. Before that, the Y was lit by igniting balls of mattress stuffing soaked in oil. Now that permanent HL-392 lights have been installed, the university is considering additional times to light the Y in addition to homecoming and graduation.
We have a Heliport Installation Map that shows where some of our products are installed worldwide. Please click on the map markers to see additional details about each heliport.
