Surface/Ground Level Heliport Lighting System | Avlite

Features

• Solar Powered: The Avlite helipad lighting solution is completely solar powered, reducing installation time and running costs. Removing reliance on grid-power allows the system to be portable and quickly deployed.
• Wireless Controlled: Accepted for use globally, the Avlite 2.4GHz wireless network allows users to directly control the operation of lights from a hand-held controller. Control light intensities, switch between visual or Infrared, or turn the entire system ON or OFF.
• Industry Compliant: The Avlite helipad perimeter lights are the only solar-powered helipad lights to comply with the photometric performance and height requirements of ICAO Annex 14 international standard.

Avlite’s solar-powered heliport lighting system is ideal for emergency, temporary or permanent helipads and helidecks. The system offers helicopter crews engaged in emergency medical services, search and rescue, law enforcement, humanitarian missions and defense a safer way to land and take off at night or in low-visibility conditions.

The two main elements of the system are the revolutionary solar perimeter light and solar flood light. Both models are low-profile and not greater than 25cm in height.

The radio-controlled solar heliport perimeter light gives over 50 hours of continuous operation at ICAO Annex 14 touch-down/lift-off perimeter light intensities, while the radio-controlled solar heliport flood light provides uniform surface lighting across a wide helipad surface. The light’s optic hood prevents upwards glare from dazzling the pilots upon approach.

Avlite’s solar-powered lighting products all utilize the same radio controller, meaning a single controller can control multiple solar fixtures including heliport beacons, taxiway lights, obstruction lights, lighted windsocks and other products.

The radio controller is designed to support a number of operational modes including 3-step intensity adjustment and switching the system between visual and infrared. The solar Pilot Activated Lighting Control (PALC) can also be integrated with the system for remote operation of an unmanned heliport.
